Photography skills are in demand and this course is designed to get you started in this exciting and diverse career under the guidance of our experienced lecturers.

TRAINING OUTCOMES

Trimester One

Foundation

You will learn how to:

  • Capture photographic images
  • Basic digital imaging
  • Develop your artistic vision
  • Manage colour in the digital workspace
  • Produce images for publication

Trimester Two

Essentials

You will learn how to:

  • Provide photographic portrait services
  • Research current photographic styles and trends
  • Produce photographs for the media
  • Explore lighting techniques to create drama and interest

Trimester Three

Art and Business

You will learn how to:

  • Negotiate a photographic brief
  • Produce professional commercial images
  • Plan an artistic photographic exhibition
  • Prepare your images for printing

REQUIREMENTS

This course is available to International Students who are able to provide evidence that they:

  • Are over the age of 18.
  • Have completed year 12 or equivalent.
  • Have completed Year 12 English at an Australian secondary school or college, or equivalent.
  • If you have completed a qualification where English was the primary language of instruction, you may be eligible for an English language exemption.
  • IELTS, TOEFL, PTE and CAE: These tests must be taken no more than two years prior to application.

Meet one of the following English proficiency requirements:

  • a valid IELTS score of 5.5 or other minimum test scores
  • that they have successfully completed their Year 12 or equivalent in English Language.
