Are you a professional in the construction and building industry looking to advance your career. This qualification will help you make the move into building surveying.
Your studies will deepen your understanding of the construction industry and its key stakeholders, and provide you with insight into building surveying. You will focus on building processes and technology, construction law, and building regulations and codes.
International students should note that the program is available only by online delivery in their home country. It is not available to international students studying in Australia under a student visa.
The graduate certificate is a pathway into the Graduate Diploma in Built Environment (Building Surveying) which fulfils the educational requirements for Building Surveyor level accreditation by the Australian Institute of Building Surveyors.

building surveyor: ensuring buildings are safe to occupy, energy efficient, accessible and meet all legal requirements as a statutory responsibility; assessing, certifying and inspecting building works; working in design, fire safety, energy efficiency and access solutions; supporting the legal process as educators and expert witnesses
estimator: compiling cost estimates based on variables such as labor, materials and equipment; working out how much a project is likely to cost and creating budgets; analyzing different quotes from sub-contractors and suppliers
construction planner: developing time plans on construction projects so the project is completed safely, on time and within budget; thinking critically; working with managers and engineers to discuss progress and address issues that arise; organizing the stages of construction development
REQUIREMENTS
Completed a Bachelor Degree in built environment, civil engineering; structural engineering; building surveying; quantity surveying; real estate management; facilities management; property management; construction project management; architecture from a recognised University. Applicants who have completed Bachelor degrees from other relevant disciplines will be considered on a case by case basis.
OR
a minimum of six years of relevant industry experience. Applicants must provide a detailed curriculum vitae and written employer reference/s. Employer reference should state period of employment and roles undertaken in order to ascertain the relevancy.
English Language Requirements:
IELTS score of 6.5 (with 6.0 in Reading and Writing); TOEFL iBT score of 79 with Reading and Writing not less than 18; TOEFL paper-based test (PBT) score of 577 with TWE of 4.5; Cambridge CAE/CPE score of 177; Pearson’s test of English (Academic) (PTE) score of 58 with Reading and Writing communicative scores not less than 50; CELUSA score of AE5.
