COURSE DESCRIPTION
This qualification reflects the role of individuals who perform a range of tasks relating to servicing and repairing air conditioning components and systems of cars and heavy vehicles in an automotive service and repair business.
The completion of this qualification enables an individual to apply for an AAC02 – Refrigerant handling licence – qualified persons (Automotive air conditioning licence). Users are advised that the scope of the licence will be contingent on unit of competency selection. Trainee licences also apply to those handling refrigerants while undertaking training. These licences are governed by the Australian Refrigeration Council, which should be contacted for further information.

Licensing requirements

Trainee Licence
A refrigeration and air conditioning (RAC) trainee licence is required for a person who is handling refrigerant while undertaking training and/or assessment leading to a National Quality Council endorsed qualification in refrigeration and/or air conditioning, for the classroom and work-based training only.
The completion of this qualification enables an individual to apply for an AAC02 – Refrigerant handling licence – qualified persons (Automotive air conditioning licence).

REQUIREMENTS
Completion of year 11 or equivalent. (Subject to the assessment and approval of UTA Institute of Technology Admission team.)
English requirements: IELTS 5.5 or TOEFL PB 506, TOEFL IBT 62, PTE Academic 46, CAE & CPE (from 2015) 162.
Applicants must be 18 years of age and above
Successful completion of Pre-training review (PTR) LLN Level 3
