COURSE DESCRIPTION

As the worlds of medicine and science continue to advance, the need for well-trained healthcare professionals and teachers grows.

Explore challenging areas of personal development, like youth health issues, sexuality, drugs, psychology, sport science, and risk-taking behaviours.

In this program, you can study general health science, such as human biology, health systems, health promotion and research.

Gain access to world-class facilities, including a gymnasium, dance and gym studio, sports fields, and undercover sport courts where learning to lead practical experiences are a strong feature of the program.

Enrolment in this program involves direct pathway to a Master of Teaching degree, and then on to a teaching career. Teaching opportunities can be extended beyond HPE by studying subjects in other disciplines to gain a second teaching area.

Professional accreditation

Graduates may be eligible to apply for accreditation with the NSW Education Standards Authority following the successful completion of a recognised teaching qualification such as the Master of Teaching (Secondary).

REQUIREMENTS

Students must have Successful completion of Year 12 or an equivalent qualification.

English Language Requirements:

IELTS: 6.5 overall score (min 6.0 in each subtest); TOEFL internet-based score of 82: Writing 21, Speaking 18, Reading 13, Listening 13; Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE): 58 overall; No communication skills less than 50.
