COURSE DESCRIPTION
This qualification reflects the role of individuals in a variety of Business Services job roles. These individuals may have general management accountabilities. Individuals in these roles carry out complex tasks in a specialist field of expertise. They may undertake technical research and analysis, and will often contribute to setting the strategic direction for a work area. The qualification is suited to individuals who are responsible for the supervision and leadership of a team or work area (including by managing staff performance and making staffing decisions).
Educational pathways and potential career outcomes
Graduates at this level will have broad knowledge and skills for paraprofessional/highly skilled work and/or further learning. Potential employment options are in mid-level managerial positions in a range of industry areas such as Business Development Manager, Business Analyst and so on.
Students who complete this course may wish to continue their education into the Graduate Diploma of Management (Learning) or a range of higher education qualifications in business or business administration areas in universities or other tertiary institutions.
REQUIREMENTS
AIA has the following entry requirements for international students: A learner must:
Be at least 18 years of age.
Have completed at least the equivalent of year 12 education.
Participate in a course entry interview to determine suitability for the course and student needs.
Participate in an LLN (Language, Literacy and Numeracy) assessment, if applicable, to determine and demonstrate their readiness and learning capacity to undertake their desired course.
Have an overall IELTS score of 5.5 with no individual band score of less than
5.0 (test results must be not more than two (2) years old). English language competence can also be demonstrated through documented evidence of any of the following:
the student was educated in an English-speaking country for at least five (5) years; or
the student has completed at least six (6) months of a minimum of AQF level 4 course or higher in an Australian RTO within the last two (2) years; or
the student has successfully completed an English Placement Test at AIA.
