COURSE DESCRIPTION
This nationally accredited Advanced Diploma of Business is suited to people who possess sound theoretical business skills and knowledge and would like to develop themselves in order to create further educational and employment opportunities.
This qualification reflects the role of individuals in a variety of Business Services job roles. These individuals may have general management accountabilities.
Individuals in these roles carry out complex tasks in a specialist field of expertise. They may undertake technical research and analysis and will often contribute to setting the strategic direction for a work area.
The qualification is suited to individuals who are responsible for the supervision and leadership of a team or work area (including by managing staff performance and making staffing decisions).
You can gain from this Advanced Diploma of Business using your current knowledge and experience across business contexts, plus broaden your commercial skills and expand your expertise in business planning, system development, marketing, HR, finances, risk management and other key business areas.
PROGRAM DELIVERY AND ASSESSMENT METHODS
The course program is scheduled to be delivered over a 104-week timeframe of full-time study consisting of 80 weeks of scheduled class time plus 24 weeks of breaks.
- Classes are scheduled at 20 hours per week (15 hours face-to-face + 5 hours online learning).
- The course is divided into 8 terms.
- Classes are delivered over 2 days at 7.5 hours per day plus 5 hours of online learning per week
- Holiday periods are 3 weeks in duration for every term-break throughout the year.
REQUIREMENTS
- Applicants must be at least age of 18.
- Applicants must have completed a minimum of Australian Year 10 satisfactorily or equivalent.
- Applicants must have IELTS 5.5 (Upper Intermediate) or equivalent.
- Applicants must have completed a Diploma or Advanced Diploma from the BSB Training Package (current or superseded equivalent versions); or have two years equivalent full-time relevant workplace experience in an operational or leadership role in an enterprise
Evidence of English language proficiency must be evidenced by providing any of the following:
Scores in the following English language proficiency tests:
- an IELTS examination result of 5.5 (overall score) or higher completed within the two years preceding the date of application
- a Pearson Academic overall score of result of 42-49
- TOEFL 46-59 (Internet based)
- Successful completion of a General English course from an approved ELICOS provider at Upper Intermediate level or higher (CEFR = B2)
Students unable to provide any of the above evidence of English proficiency must complete IIB’s in-house Placement Test prior to enrolment to confirm that they hold the required LLN skills.
