COURSE DESCRIPTION
This qualification reflects the role of individuals with significant experience in a senior administrative role who are seeking to develop expertise across a wider range of business functions. The qualification is suited to individuals who possess significant theoretical business skills and knowledge and wish to consolidate and build pathways to further educational or employment opportunities.
PATHWAYS
This course may also be used as a pathway into a Bachelor of Business.
DELIVERY APPROACH AND MODE
The delivery approach of this course is based on a timetable of 20 hours per week. The mode of delivery and assessment of this course may include lectures, group workshops, presentations, practical activities, some self-directed learning as well as research reports. These components will be supported by blended learning methodologies, face to face classroom-based learning and/or a flexible approach with online learning.
DELIVERY AND ASSESSMENT
A variety of methods are incorporated into the course to accommodate different learning styles. These include project work, reports, portfolio development as well as individual presentations.
COURSE DURATION
This course is delivered over 40 weeks. However, depending on the time of enrolment and holiday periods throughout the year, the total duration of the course could be up to 52 weeks (including holidays).
COURSE STRUCTURE
To attain an Advanced Diploma of Business, competency in the following 10 units must be achieved:
- BSBCRT611 Apply critical thinking for complex problem solving
- BSBOPS601 Develop and implement business plans
- BSBSUS601 Lead corporate social responsibility
- BSBHRM614 Contribute to strategic workforce planning
- BSBLDR601 Lead and manage organisational change
- BSBSUS511 Develop workplace policies and procedures for sustainability
- BSBSTR602 Develop organisational strategies
- BSBAUD515 Evaluate and review compliance
- BSBFIN601 Manage organisational finances
- BSBTEC601 Review organisational digital strategy
REQUIREMENTS
Demonstration of potential to undertake vocational education and training at advanced diploma level, including:
- Completion of the Diploma of Business or
- Other relevant qualification. Demonstration of substantial vocational experience in a range of environments, acting in a range of senior support or administrative roles; and
- Students must be 18 years of age or over International students require an English language proficiency score of 5.5 IELTS (or equivalent).
