Certificate IV in Business is designed to realise your dream work in junior leadership and management positions in a broad range of industries by providing you with a solid grounding in the unique needs of business and corporate environments. The course will equip you with necessary knowledge and skills you need in administration positions. You will be trained to effectively lead a team by utilising your initiative and judgment to plan and implement a range of basic leadership and management functions. You will also have opportunity to hone your cognitive and communication skills to identify, analyse and synthesise information from a variety of sources for continuous improvement.
Throughout the course, you will learn a broad range of fundamental leadership and management competencies such as implementing and monitoring WHS policies, procedures and programs, applying critical thinking to work practices, using digital technologies to collaborate in a work environment, build and maintain business relationships and applying communication strategies in the workplace. In addition, you will also learn how to coordinate implementation of customer service strategies, implement customer service standards, and support the recruitment, selection and induction of staff.

Academic Pathways
On completion of this qualification, you are eligible to progress to Diploma of Leadership and Management or to undertake a range of other diploma qualifications from the BSB Business Services Training Package or any other training package to further enhance your career opportunities in your chosen field.
You may also choose to seek entry into an undergraduate degree such as a Bachelor of Business at an Australian Higher Education Provider (subject to the Higher Education Provider’s course entry requirements). Coupled with substantial leadership and management experience (more than two years) you may be eligible to gain entry into a number of post-graduate courses such as a Graduate Certificate in Business Administration, Graduate Certificate in Management or Master of Business Administration.
Employment Pathways
When successfully completed this course, you will be confident to seek employment in a small, medium or large enterprise, in a variety of industries, in both the public and private sectors. If you do not have prior work experience, you should expect to enter the industry in positions such as administration assistant or other related position. With substantial work experience, this course prepares you for junior positions such as administration officer or administration coordinator.
REQUIREMENTS
International students must meet TWI’s standards for English proficiency. To demonstrate possession of adequate English language proficiency, students must provide valid evidence of attainment of at least one of the following:
- Academic IELTS (International English Language Testing System) overall band score: 5.5, but minimum 5.0 in individual band (test results must be no more than 2-years-old).
- TOEFL iBT (Test of English as a Foreign Language Internet-Based Test) test score band: 46
- PTE Academic (Pearson Test of English) test score band: 42
- CAE (Cambridge English Advanced) test score band: 162
- OET (Occupational English Test) test score band: Pass (A or B)
In addition to that, students are exempt from providing evidence of English language proficiency with their visa application if they fall into one of the following categories:
- Students who have completed at least five years of study in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, South Africa or the Republic of Ireland.
- Citizens and passport holders of the UK, USA, Canada, New Zealand or the Republic of Ireland.
- Students who have successfully completed the Senior Secondary Certificate of Education or study at AQF Certificate IV level or higher in Australia within two years of applying for this qualification.
- Students enrolled full-time in school studies as a principal course (including secondary exchange programs), postgraduate research or a standalone ELICOS program.
- Foreign Affairs or Defence sponsored students.
