COURSE DESCRIPTION

If you’re passionate about health, exercise and nutrition, kickstart your journey to a rewarding career supporting healthy and active lives with UQ’s Bachelor of Human Movement and Nutrition Sciences.

Through this program you’ll develop the knowledge and skills to address two of the most important risk factors for chronic disease – physical activity and nutrition – and gain a strong foundation to support healthier communities.

You’ll explore human movement and nutrition across the lifespan and discover the roles that food, physical activity, exercise and sleep play in our health, the prevention of chronic disease, and sporting performance.

With majors available in nutrition sciences, sports coaching, or sporting cultures, you’ll have the option to deep dive into your area of interest while developing expertise in your chosen field of study. Be in demand with the skills and knowledge to pursue a variety of clinical and non-clinical health careers and graduate ready to meet the challenges facing the health care sector.

With flexible course options, you can design this program to fit your own career goals and tailor your studies towards meeting the entry requirements into a range of postgraduate degrees, such as:

REQUIREMENTS

Queensland Year 12 (or equivalent):

General English subject (Units 3 & 4, C), and
General Mathematics, Mathematical Methods or Specialist Mathematics (Units 3 & 4, C), and
one of Biology, Chemistry or Physics (Units 3 & 4, C).

English language requirements

IELTS overall 6.5; reading 6; writing 6; speaking 6; listening 6. For other English Language Proficiency Tests and Scores approved for UQ

TOEFL iBT (including Paper Edition) – Overall 87, listening 19, reading 19, writing 21 and speaking 19.

PTE Academic – Overall Score of 64 and 60 in all sub bands.

BE – A minimum overall grade of 4 plus a minimum grade of C in all macro skills.

CES – Overall 176 and 169 in all sub bands.

OET is not accepted.
