Delve deeper into your studies, follow your research passion and develop specialist knowledge in an honours degree.
If you want to be challenged intellectually and explore further into your studies, this honours program may be the right choice for you.
Your honours year will allow you to deeply investigate a topic of interest, and gain skills in designing and undertaking research.
You’ll write your own honours thesis on an approved topic of your choice, in a specialist research area, such as biomechanics and motor control, pedagogy and sociocultural studies, nutrition and dietetics, or human movement and health. In some cases, honours projects can be undertaken with industry partners, such as the Queensland Academy of Sport, the Brisbane Broncos or Queensland Health.
The thesis you write may be publishable, and make a significant contribution to the field. If so, when you graduate, you’ll not only have the skills and knowledge to stand out as a leader, your published thesis could establish your professional reputation and act as a gateway to future career roles.
On completion of your honours year, you may qualify for Higher Degree by Research study, including a PhD.

REQUIREMENTS
A Bachelor of Human Movement and Nutrition Sciences or Bachelor of Exercise and Nutrition Science from UQ with a GPA of 5;
Or a bachelor’s degree in human movement and nutrition sciences and satisfy the Executive Dean that the applicant is suitably qualified to undertake honours, who may be subject to the completion of additional work if set by the Executive Dean.
English language requirements
IELTS overall 6.5; reading 6; writing 6; speaking 6; listening 6. For other English Language Proficiency Tests and Scores approved for UQ
TOEFL iBT (including Paper Edition) – Overall 87, listening 19, reading 19, writing 21 and speaking 19.
PTE Academic – Overall Score of 64 and 60 in all sub bands.
BE – A minimum overall grade of 4 plus a minimum grade of C in all macro skills.
CES – Overall 176 and 169 in all sub bands.
OET is not accepted.
